How the Green Business Program WorksHow the Green Business Program Works

Companies across the Philadelphia metropolitan area are making a public promise to change their daily business practices to reduce impacts on the environment. The program focuses on a checklist of green operational practices designed for office users. Once a key company leader has signed the commitment letter to participate in the program and has completed the checklist, the company will be ranked as Basic, Silver, Gold or Platinum based on the number of green practices it has adopted.

  1. Create a free account on our website and provide basic company information, including office location(s), number of employees, etc.
  2. Download the The Greater Philadelphia Green Business Commitment Letter, have it signed by a senior executive of your company or local office, and return it to us.
  3. Complete the checklist to indicate which steps your company has taken to reduce its environmental footprint.
  4. If your company implements the seven mandatory measures and at least 20 elective measures, you qualify for basic membership in the program.  Additional elective measures qualify you for increasing membership levels.
  5. Complete the Green Business Member Profile Page to have your company profile listed on our website along with other program members.

Once your membership is confirmed, you and your employees will have access to additional resources on our website, including discussion forums and best practices bulletin boards where members can share ideas and opportunities for increasing the environmental commitment of their companies.
